Consell Esportiu del Baix Camp

Consell Esportiu del Baix Camp (later referred as CEDBC) is a non-profit, private entity of public and social interes among the 45 Sports Councils in Catalonia. The organization has as main objective the development, organisation and promotion of physical activity aimed at primary school children in Baix Camp.

CEDBC is the maximum authority of representation and participation in sport of the General Assembly, that is integrated in all town and city councils of the Baix Camp, the Region Council, all education centres, clubs, associations and sport federations of our region and all other entities of the Baix camp that are related to sport. The staff’s organization knows the reality and the necessities, not only relating to sport, but also to social needs of all the city and town centres of the territory, so that it can offer sports activities to all social classes in the region, being in fact the main engine of sport.

All activities promoted by CEDBC and directed to young athletes are laid out with pedagogical standards, with educational values and educational purposes implicit in sport (soft skills as rule acceptance, sense of civic responsibility, teamwork, respect, tolerance and understanding). The broad sporting selection that CEDBC offer allows anyone to practise a sport in different aspects, both competitive and amateur.

One of the main objectives of this organization is to work with schools, especially primary schools, to offer pupils opportunities for outdoor sports and educational activities. Through this partnership it will be possible to sensitize the teachers of the Reus region and through them to involve a good number of children in the activities. Given the size of the organization, it will be possible to disseminate the results of the project throughout Catalonia.
